The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative has a local video featuring stories of teen parents in Jackson County, titled 'I WISH.' The video features eight diverse teen mom and dads discussing their experiences and challenges as teen parents. Over 70 copies have been distributed to local school districts and agencies to reach middle and high school students. Three versions of the video were created along with a discussion guide: abstinence only, comprehensive, and condensed. In the fall of 2009, a statewide version of the ‘I WISH’ video was created and to date over sixty-five copies have been purchased across the state of Michigan. ‘I WISH’ in-school assemblies took place beginning in the spring of 2009. Nearly 4,200 students have seen the video along with drama performances and/or testimonies of teen parents through ‘I WISH’ Assemblies at high need Jackson County schools in the past two years.

This video is available for community members to use on loan from the Jackson County Health Department. Each video contains all three versions to choose from:

Abstinence Only (17 minutes 46 seconds)

Comprehensive (18 minutes 20 seconds)

Condensed Version - Comprehensive (6 minutes)
