Welcome to the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative of Jackson County's website. Our mission is to reduce the teen pregnancy rate and address contributing factors for Jackson County's young people.
The TPPI has been awarded funding from the Michigan Department of Community Health's Taking Pride in Prevention Program to bring the Teen Outreach Program (TOP) to the City of Jackson! For more information on TOP, please visit http://www.wymantop.org/.

In Michigan, 54 teen girls get pregnant every day.
In Jackson County, at least one teen girl gets pregnant every day.
The City of Jackson has the 3rd highest teen birth rate among cities in Michigan. The County of Jackson has the 9th highest teen pregnancy rate and the 14th highest teen birth rate in Michigan.
249 babies were born to teen mothers in Jackson County in 2009.
Most Jackson County high school students have NOT had sex (58.9%).
Jackson County ranks 10th highest in the state of Michigan for teen rates of Chlamydia and 14th highest for rates of Gonorrhea.
Nearly 20% of teen births in Jackson County are to mothers who already have one or more children.
